How do you find a trustworthy, local medical provider if you’re traveling?
Picture this: you and your family arrive in some foreign country, for an extravagant, once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Maybe you’re checking out the sights in Italy, France, or Greece. Then, the day after your flight, someone wakes up with a terrible stomach ache and GI issues. What do you do? Well, if you’re like most travelers and tourists who don’t speak the local language, you may try to google some at-home remedies to see if that works. You may google medications or maybe even local pharmacies, but you don’t speak the language, so it’s not like the staff at those places will be able to help much. If the symptoms don’t let up, perhaps you go the local hospital. Surely there, someone will speak your language and can get you taken care of, right? The problem with this approach is that it can be costly and time consuming. There should be an easier way to get medical help when you’re traveling abroad, right?
Well, this week, I have a chat with Jenny Cohen-Derfler, founder and CEO of AirDoctor, an app-based company that connects travelers with local clinicians worldwide. She’s been involved in technology for years, working for the Intel Corporation and other high-level positions within Silicon Valley, but she had never ventured into the healthcare space, until one of her colleagues mentioned this idea to her.
What we cover in this Episode:
- The value of on-demand healthcare
- Using technology to improve access to care
- The importance of Clear Communication, especially when seeking medical care abroad
- How to ensure quality of care across a network of local clinicians
- How to achieve Better Outcomes by focusing on people rather than numbers

What we can help you do:
✅ Train your staff and clinicians to be able to confidently communicate the value your organization provides…
✅ Leverage best practices, new technology, telehealth, and marketing/messaging to maximize patient engagement & retention…
✅ Develop a system that keeps patients & clients happy, engaged, and satisfied throughout the entire process of care…
We help you not only craft marketing messages & campaigns that build that know, like, & trust value you need to convert leads into scheduled clients; but we also work with your clinicians and staff to make sure that, once a patient decides to schedule an appointment, you have a system setup that keeps them happy, engaged, and satisfied throughout the onboarding, treatment, and discharge process.
In short, we help your whole organization become focused on the most important thing in healthcare: people – the people who work for your organization, and the people who your organization treats and serves.
