How Can Rehab Providers Actually Make Money with Remote Therapeutic Monitoring?
With all of the talk about Remote Therapeutic Monitoring and the move towards value-based reimbursement models and the like, one thing seems to be missing. What are the Economics of Remote Therapeutic Monitoring? How do clinicians make money with remote therapeutic monitoring? Depending on who you talk to, the numbers vary from tens of dollars to hundreds of dollars per patient per course of care. Some of those numbers, I feel, are a bit inflated and rely on projections based on very generous assumptions. I’ve always said that the real value behind digital health and RTM is the patient engagement and data it provides. But, I know many clinical organizations need to see tangible ROI for an investment into an RTM program or platform.
So, this week, for episode 100, I sit down with Steven Coen from SaRA Health to talk specifically about the economics of remote therapeutic monitoring. We talk dollars and cents. We talk about what clinicians can reliably base their calculations and assumptions on. And, we talk about the potential to use RTM to increase cashflow and margins in private practice rehab.
What we cover in this Episode:
- Implementing technology to streamline care while also improving patient engagement & retention
- The value in the data that RM Provides
- The Economics of Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (how you make money with it now & in the future)
- Some challenges clinicians find when implementing RTM & virtual care
- Barriers to adopting new technology in the clinic
- Achieving Better Outcomes through RTM
