Ever wonder how we can take healthcare back from the number-crunchers?

Or do you find yourself falling into procedural ruts in your practice, whether from an administrative standpoint, or a direct clinical care standpoint?

Often, healthcare providers, clinicians, managers, and practice owners or directors find themselves driven by numbers. Decisions about processes, procedures, or policies become oriented around balancing columns on a spreadsheet. Now, numbers do play a role in the success of a private healthcare practice. However, often times, we fall into the trap of becoming number-centric, rather than people-centric. That’s why I wrote Better Outcomes: A Guide to Humanizing Healthcare.

I was recently able to sit dow with Rhiannon Crispe from The OT Lifestyle Movement Podcast to talk about this very topic, and explore some of the core topics in the book.

Show Notes From Episode

Healthcare has become more about efficiency, productivity and profit and less about client satisfaction and individualized care. Many of us feel stuck in a system that isn’t working for us – we’re forever trying to keep up with KPI’s, policies and procedures. And ‘the system’ certainly isn’t the most beneficial for our clients. In this episode I am joined by Rafi Salazar. Rafi is an occupational therapist, principal owner of Rehab U Practice Solutions, author of the book: Better Outcomes: A Guide to Humanizing Healthcare and host of the podcast: The Better Outcomes Show.

In this interview on The OT Lifestyle Movement Podcast, we cover a few of the 8 Commitments outlined in the book. We talk specifics, both administrative tasks and strategies, and clinical strategies.

Hopefully, you find the interview entertaining, insightful, and valuable.
