Here’s a quick list of what you can expect from me and my team:

A Little Bit About Me (Rafael E. Salazar II, MHS, OTR/L)
I am the principal owner of Rehab U Practice Solutions. I’ve spent my clinical career working in a variety of rehab settings, mainly treating patients recovering from a variety of injuries and surgeries. I previously worked as the lead clinician in an outpatient specialty clinic at my local VA Medical center. I then worked as a healthcare management consultant, working on a large project for the State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
I’ve also taught as a faculty instructor & assistant professor at Augusta University’s Occupational Therapy Program. I’ve taught classes on Evidence-Based Practice, Applied Kinesiology, Adult Physical Dysfunction, Adult Rehabilitation, Leadership & Management, and Mental Health. I’ve also given lectures and presentations about the biopsychosocial model, licensing & regulatory issues, deinstitutionalization & community integration, career development, & trauma-informed care. I’ve also worked as a consultant for the State of Georgia’s DBHDD, on a multi-million dollar project involving transitioning individuals out of State Hospitals, provider readiness and recruitment, and statewide mobile integrated clinical support services.
I currently serve as a Licensed Board Member on the GA State OT Board and have served on several committees for the National OT Board (NBCOT). I also serve as a board member on the Board of Directors for NBCOT.
I devote my time to writing, consulting, teaching, and speaking. My goal is to help healthcare clinics and organizations deliver uniquely impactful patient experiences by improving service delivery through my training & advisement.

Rehab U Practice Solutions offers consulting and advisory engagement focused on helping organizations increase revenue by improving patient experience, engagement, & retention. We work with organizations to develop marketing strategies, optimize administrative operations to improve patient engagement, and business & strategic planning.

How it Works
What’s involved?: Typically, monthly consulting engagements include 1-2 monthly consulting calls with organizational leadership & implementation team. The first month involves a diagnostic & action-planning framework. This diagnostic & report guide the consulting engagement going forward. During the regular consulting calls, we work with your implementation team to ensure success of initiatives recommended in the report.
How long will it take?: Projects typically range from 30-45 days on the short end (usually involving a diagnostic & report only) to 8-12 months on the long end. Most of our consulting engagements using this framework typically last 3-6 months.
We complete a diagnostic, using data and information from your organization, team’s input, and benchmarking to industry standards.
2. Report & Recommendations
Following data gathering for the diagnostic, we will compile a report for your team that includes areas of opportunity & recommendations to improve given topic area (patient engagement, patient retention, lead generation, etc.)
3. Action-Item Development
We guide you through development of action-items & initiatives to effect change and improve KPIs identified in the diagnostic.
4. Implementation Guidance
We provide guidance and insight as your team or in-house resources implement initiatives identified in the action-item development. This is typically done via the regular consulting calls & via email/text/phone communications throughout the consulting engagement.
What’s the Cost?
The big $$$ question…Well, here’s the deal: I know you’ve likely scrolled down past all of the material up above and have come to rest here, at the price. Unfortunately, I wish I could give you a specific quote for a specific engagement level and call it a day. It would make it easier for me, and you’d get the exact answer you’re looking for now.
Unfortunately, I can’t do that. Why? Because, much the same way we believe that each patient or client you serve is uniquely different, so we believe of you. Therefore, I can’t give you a one-size-fits-all pricing model, because we tailor our process and framework to each client we work with. What I can do is provide you a sample proposal with some rough averages to give you an idea of the size of investment we’re talking about. I can tell you that typical monthly consulting engagements range between $2,500 and $5,000 per month. Sometimes, monthly consulting engagements also include a strategic project or deliverable. In these scenarios, an additional project fee may be included for the strategic deliverable. Below is a sample engagement options illustration to give you an idea of typical monthly consulting fees. Again, sometimes it’s much larger; sometimes, much smaller. It all depends on your particular situation & needs.
What are the terms? Typically, we require between a 25-50% deposit to get started. The balance is typically due on the first day of the month in which the consulting engagement is to begin. To keep it simple and uncomplicated, we don’t do long-term contracts. Consulting engagements are month-to-month. Fees are invoiced at the beginning of each month, and due upon receipt. We do require a 30-day notice to terminate consulting engagements.
